It is with great sadness that the family of the late BRIDGET STEWART of Marystown announces her passing. Bridget passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 at the age of 87. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Peter (Irene) of Marystown, Bill of Marystown, John of Marystown, Derm of Marystown, Craig of CBS, and Kenneth (Joan) of St. Bernard’s; daughters, Carol Anne Stewart of Marystown and Joanne Stewart of Fort McMurray, AB; large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Roche Hannam of Marystown; sons-in-law, Brian Tobin of St. Lawrence and Eugene Saunders of Marystown; sister-in-law, Anna Hannam of Nova Scotia; plus a large circle of extended relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends. Bridget was predeceased by her husband, George Stewart; daughters, Georgina Tobin and Linda Saunders; parents, Peter & Clara Hannam; brothers and sisters.
The Stewart Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Homes in Marystown on Tuesday June 8th from 10am – 12pm; 2pm – 4pm; and 7pm – 9 pm; and Wednesday, June 9th from 10am – 1pm.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions this will be a walk through visitation with a maximum of 20 people in the building at one time. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required. Please note that there is no food permitted in the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown. Due to limited space availability those that wish to attend the funeral mass can contact the funeral home to have your name added to the list.
In Bridget’s memory, donations may be made to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation or flowers gratefully accepted.
