Obituary of Brian Copping
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an amazing man, Brian John Copping after a courageous battle with ALS. He passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound, on August 30, 2021. Brian was born in Peterborough on February 21, 1940 and was in his 82nd year.
Beloved husband of Shirley Copping of Owen Sound. Loving father of Cindy (Dave) of Wiarton, Rhonda (Brady) of Flesherton, Cathy (Darius) of Priceville and Craig (Erin) of Flesherton. Cherished grandpa of Sandra, Dylan, Kristin, Kelsea, Lauren, Alex, Yazmin, Lola, and great-grandpa of Brayden, Asher, Layla, Olivia and Cayman. Also survived by his sister Gayle (Ron) of Mount Forest. Loving uncle of Heather and Brent, and loyal friend to many. Predeceased by his first wife Betty and by his parents Jack and Mabel.
Brian’s career in banking spanned almost 40 years. BJ was the ultimate Leafs fan and loved golfing and bowling. Brian will be remembered for his kind respectful manner, quick wit, sense of humour and great love for his family.
Thank you to Chapman House for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult time.
A private funeral service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held at a later date. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492
