BRIAN LENTON
April 18, 1955 – Nov 12, 2021
Brian would roll his eyes if this story simply noted that he lost his courageous battle with cancer. He would want it known that he stubbornly refused to believe he was dying, never followed dr’s orders and raised hell for his 66 years on earth, including the last 7.
Welcoming him on his next journey are his parents Charles Raymond Lenton and Evelyn Ruth Lenton.
Father and Mother in Law, Morris and Phyllis Ponton.
Here to miss and remember Brian are his wife and the love of his life Cindy Ponton. His Big Brother and Sister In Law – David and Wendy Lenton. His sister and brother in law – Fay and Gord McKend. Sister in law and Brother in law, Sharon Ponton-Ezako and Bryan #2 Ezako.
Children – Stefanie and Christopher Lenton. Grandaugher – Jordon Lenton.
Nieces and Nephews – Michael and Amanda Lenton, Lori and Steven Gamache, Tina and Ken Perry, Troy and Tory Pereira, and Jim McKend.
Brian was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, but moved early in life to Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a rebel from the start, in a happy go lucky kind of way. Early in his childhood he was a fierce member of the Suicide Riders Bicycle Gang with his best friend Tom Roski. Terrorizing the west end of Winnipeg. Tom remained Brian’s closest friend until Brian’s passing. Gang members until the end.
Later in life Brian served with the Princess Pats and had many stories to share of his time in the army. Some serious, but most humorous. Something you would understand if you knew Brian. He found humour in most everything.
There were a lot of things Brian loved in life, and first on his list was family. He cherished the times he spent with family and was always the biggest kid in the room at Christmas. Family brought immense joy and laughter to Brian.
Other loves of Brian during his time with us.
Old Cars – A favourite memory of Brian’s was his trip to Vegas where he got to visit Count’s Kustoms with his big brother David, meet Horny Mike, and ride motorcycles through the desert. A memory of a lifetime for Brian.
Clear Lake. The Blue Jays – In good and bad times. Ice Caps and McDonalds Burritos. Christmas. Jack Daniels. Pictionary. Long Walks. And in truth he loved daily life with a good dose of laughter.
A true rebel and warrior in spirit, with laughter and humour until his time with us ended.
And his endearing words, “Don’t Forget Me” . You needn’t worry Brian, you are truly one of a kind, and Unforgettable.
…..and when he knew She was ready, he closed his eyes and bid farewell….for now.
