Brian’s Obituary
It is with deep shock and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brian Snow at his residence on Wednesday August 18th. 2021.
Leaving to mourn: Laverne, his partner of 32 years; his sister, Alice; honorary son Neil Hewitt Barney (wife Nancy & their son Finley); honorary grandson, Layne Matechuk (Humboldt Broncos); sisters and brothers- in- law: Ethel (Waterloo), Loretta (Henry) Fort McMurray, Eugene (Christine) Cormack, Wayne (Marjorie) Deer Lake, Claude (Ivy) Fort McMurray, Yvonne(Monty) Fort McMurray, Sherry Cullihall (Fort McMurray); Sisters -in- laws: Evelyn, Elaine (Alberta)
Predeceased by his parents Chesley & Margaret Snow, brothers-in-law:
Grenville & Carl Cullihall, Terry Kneller.
Also leaving to mourn close friends who were like second family to Brian: Bob & Glendine Cull; Claude & Faye Lush; Doug & Christine Preston; Joanne & Dave Hoffe; as well as numerous friends who stretched from Newfoundland to B.C.
Brian was a very active volunteer for many, many years with a number of programs operated by the Salvation Army Corps in Deer Lake as Program Director including Youth Group, Couples Fellowship, Golden Years Fellowship, Wednesday Soup Kitchen. He was Family Service Director at the Salvation Army Thrift Store until his retirement in August 2020. After 43 years he retired from his job as organist at church.
As expressions of sympathy, family would request that donations be made to the Salvation Army Church, or Deer Lake Food Bank, or a charity of one’s choice.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the Salvation Army Church in, Deer Lake, NL, on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
The Funeral service will take place on Monday, August 23rd, 2021, at 2:00pm, at the Bowater’s field in Deer Lake, NL, with Majors Jeff and Shannon Howard and Majors Wayne & Betty Ann Pike officiating with the burial to follow at the Salvation Army section of the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery on Wight’s Road, Deer Lake, NL. Please keep in mind the Covid – 19 Government Regulations during the visitations.
