Brent Douglas Nelson 19672021

Brent Douglas Nelson
1967-2021
Brent Douglas Nelson, 54, of Riverside-Albert passed away
suddenly on February 18, 2021 at his home.
Brent was born in Moncton on February 5, 1967 the son of
Cerdic and Sandra (Black) Nelson.
Brent grew up in his hometown of Riverside-Albert, he went
to Riverside-Consolidated School and then on to graduate from
Caledonia Regional High School. After graduation he followed
in his father’s footsteps and did long
haul trucking for most of his career, last
working with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure from
the Riverside-Albert garage. Brent was a good old country
boy who was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved four
wheeling all over the back trails and being in the woods.
Brent was very fortunate to have his family all live near, being close
to his parents and his children they got to see each other
often. He had a quick dry wit and would try and get a
reaction out of everyone, he loved to tease. He had a big
rough tough exterior, a manly man, but when his
little granddaughter was around, she could do whatever she wanted to
him, even make-up. He also had a special place in his heart
for his grand fur-babies. He was a member of the
Riverside- Albert Volunteer Fire Department and was always ready to
lend a hand. Brent will be remembered for his great laugh
and has left many good memories for his family and friends to
hold onto. He would want everyone to think of all the good
times they shared. “He is only a smile
away.”
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Cerdic and Sandra;
his daughters, Courtney Stevens (Kristen) of Riverside-Albert, Emma
Nelson of Moncton and Marcy Morrissey (Adam) of Riverview; son,
Matthew Nelson (Kelsey) of Riverside-Albert; his precious
grandchildren, Ellie and Christopher; sister, Wendy Bleakney (Matthew)
of Salisbury; brother, Brian Black (Sandy) of Weldon; nephews,
Mitchell, Joshua, Tyler, Derrick and Patrick and great nephews, Liam
and Emmanuel and great niece, Charley-Anne. He will
also be missed by the mother of his children, Charlotte Copp; his
several aunts, uncles, cousins and by all his extended family and many
good friends, neighbours and co-workers; and his little dog, Milo,
that was his shadow when he was home.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Warren
& Eileen Nelson; Maternal grandparents, Russell &
Marion Black; aunt, Doreen Parker (Donald), uncles, Reg Fenton and
Bernard Black; cousin, Carl.
There will be a time of public visitation on Sunday,
February 21st from 2:00-5:00pm. Social distancing
and COVID-19 restrictions will be in place and no more than 25
visitors will be allowed in at a time. Interment will be in
the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB at a later
date.
For those who wish donations to the Riverside-Albert
Volunteer Fire Department, IWK Foundation or to the charity of your
choice would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
