Brenda Joan Morritt April 20 1932 May 9 2021

Brenda passed away peacefully to a beautiful sunset over Vancouver with family by her side on Mother’s Day. Born and raised in West Point Grey, the youngest of three sisters, Brenda attended Byng high then Fairview Commerce and worked at Electrical Energy before marrying Bob Morritt in 1957. She was in the RCAF Reserves from 1951-1956 with her best friends and enjoyed trips to Montreal before being discharged as a corporal. She had fond memories of friends and parties in the steamship cottages on Bowen Island and living in the UK for a year, working at the Strand Hotel before starting a family. Brenda was a gracious hostess and opened her home on many occasions to family and friends. Brenda was a preschool teacher for many years. She raised her own and others’ children with creativity and thoughtfulness. In later years she was a caregiver to her own mother and to her spouse, Bob. We will all miss her humour and spark. The family enjoyed many happy summers on Bowen and in Sechelt. After Bob’s passing (2017), Brenda moved to Amica where she made many good friends. Brenda is survived by son, Doug (Ruth) daughter, Donna (Jim), Grandson, Kurt, and close friends and family. We will remember Mum as strong, social, busy and loving. Service will be streamed using the link at www.legacystreaming.com/kearney/ Donations to the Metro Theatre in lieu of flowers.
