Obituary
Brenda Ann Aldina Chief was born in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan on October 19, 1958.
Mom worked for Onion Lake Education for almost 40 years, as a librarian, school cook, and home liason. Whatever job placement she had, she worked hard at it, and took pride in doing it well. She will always be remembered by students and staff for her famous Friday fried bannock with macaroni and wiener soup, she never left anyone unfed. Mom also took on a community role as a support person at funerals, it didn’t matter whose funeral it was, she was there to support.
Mom was a “social butterfly”, and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She was also a foster parent. She loved doing her ‘own’ thing on weekends, and it was usually with her sister, Gerdie. She enjoyed going to casinos, horse races, playing cards, and if there was a dance she was sure to go, invited or not. Mom loved to dance, if she didn’t have a dancing partner she always had Gerdie or her baby, Kyndra to dance with. Mom always took pride in her appearance, she loved getting her nails and hair done, something people admired about her, she always carried herself so well.
Mom raised us with guidance, she never interfered with our lives, but when she did it was stern with good intentions. She was the strongest, smallest little lady. She never complained about her fight with cancer. Mom fought a good fight with courage and strength, right to the end.
Brenda is predeceased by: her parents, Thomas (1988), and Annie (2012); her biological father, Bill McEwen (1999); her sisters, Joanne Chief, Joanne Dillon, Stephani Pamburn, and Nathonia Dillon; Jacob Pamburn; and her son-in-law, Benjamin Carter.
