BOUTILIER – Granville Leroy, 78, , “Mayor of Albany New, Queens County”, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14th, 2021 with his family by his side in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Caledonia, Granville was a son of the late Burrell and Ernestine (Kempton) Boutilier.
Granville was a respected employee of Whebby’s Construction for 25 years where he was affectionately known as “Cooter”. He raised his family in Dartmouth before moving back to his beloved Albany New. Granville will be greatly missed by the many friends he hosted at the Albany New Rec Centre.
He is survived by his three daughters Jacqueline (Gary) Burke and Wanda (John) Whitlock, both of Dartmouth and Lyrisa Boutilier of Albany New; grandchildren Amanda, Shawn, Shana, Michael and Corey; great grandchildren Tristan, Emma Mason and Clay; sisters Barbara Weagle of Middleton and Leora (Bill) Cavanagh of Wileville; brother Vincent (Nancy) of Ottawa, On.
Besides his parents Granville was predeceased by his wife Donna (Wamboldt).
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Queens General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. .
