SCHOTANUS, Bouke
With heavy hearts we share the passing of Bouke (Bob) Schotanus who went home to be with the Lord. He passed away peacefully at Welland Hospital on November 19, 2021 at the age of 85.
Survived by his wife of 64 years Geertje (Gay). Loving father to Christine Degraaf (Don), Teresa Kowalski (Peter) and Robert. He will be sadly missed by four grandchildren Melissa (Glen), Nathan (Alisha), Robyn (Paul) and Laura (Ryan) and seven great-grandchildren (Grace, Wolfgang, Hannah, Avery, Sarah, Ruth and Cody). Bouke is survived by one brother Gerrit (Mina) in the Netherlands and was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one sister, also all from the Netherlands.
Bob loved his wife, children and grandchildren. We will continue to remember you while cherishing the memories of the times we had together.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday November 23rd, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M at the Grace Christian Reformed Church, 660 South Pelham Street, Welland, ON (masking and social distancing protocols will be in effect). A private family graveside service will be held at Lane Cemetery, St. Anns with a funeral service held on Wednesday, November 24th at 1:00 P.M. at Grace Christian Reformed Church.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to Open Arms Mission – Welland.
