Bonnie Sue Pearson Tuesday November 16th 2021

Pearson (nee: Batke), Bonnie Sue:
Passed away on November 16, 2021, after a seven year battle with breast cancer at the age of 63. Beloved wife of Kevin Pearson of 41 years. Cherished mother of Matthew (Amanda), Phillip (Diandra), loving Nana to Cayden and Owen. Bonnie leaves behind her dear sister Wanda (Marv) Silver and her brother Dwight Batke.
Bonnie grew up in Riverside, a small neighbourhood in Windsor, Ontario. She excelled in gymnastics at a young age all the way through high school competing and winning on a provincial level.
Bonnie attended Winnipeg Bible College for one year prior to entering the University of Windsor BSC program in Home Economics with a major in textiles and sewing. These two institutions paved the road for her two great passions, Sewing and faith in Jesus.
Bonnie met her husband Kevin while working at Sears in Windsor in 1979 and though the two clashed at first, Kevin ultimately convinced her to temporarily quit university, marry in Sept 1980 and move to Stratford. After finishing her degree at Western, Kevin’s career took them to Kitchener.
Bonnie was an active member at Grandview Baptist Church in Kitchener for 36 years. She was involved in encouraging and building people up in their knowledge and love of Christ as well as assisting the church in many sewing and restoration projects. Many women will attest to her love and ability to encourage through one on one discipleship. Bonnie was also involved with Precept Bible Ministries and was always in weekly and daily studies.
Bonnie’s sewing skills and education were put to use in many ways including teaching at Conestoga in the Kitchener, Guelph and Waterloo campuses for over 30 years, working with or at many fine sewing and fabric stores locally and being involved in an amazing program teaching industrial sewing to immigrant women. This has been a great and rewarding joy in her life, impacting many new Canadians, helping them learn not only practical sewing skills but employment and life skills through the program. This joy was only outshone by being a grandmother – affectionately known as Nana to two amazing grandsons!
Great thanks given to many wonderful doctors, nurses, PSW’s and volunteers at hospitals, Grand River Cancer Centre, Care Partners, and staff at Lisaard House.
All glory to God.
