Robert Ernest Charles William Wicks (Bob)
December 22, 1932 – March 3, 2021
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at Credit Valley Hospital at the age of 88 after a short battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 66 years to Mary Jane Wicks. Loving Father of Heather Wicks, Teresa Young (Stefan Young) and Alan Wicks (Denise Ridley). Loving grandfather of Christopher Wright (Marissa Genge), Catherine Wright, Matthew Wicks and Nathan Wicks. Great-grandfather of Grayson Wright. Raised in Aylmer, Ontario, Bob married the love of his life Mary Jane in 1954 and soon after started a family. At that time, Bob started working for the Bank of Montreal where he spent almost 45 years. Towards the end of his career, he worked as an auditor travelling all over the world. Mary often accompanied him on these trips which included countries like South Korea, Australia and Brazil. Bob grew up loving and playing many sports. He especially loved golf, lawn bowling, baseball and hockey. He was a lifelong (frustrated) Toronto Maple Leaf fan. He also was involved in coaching and loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting and school activities. Bob was Mary’s best friend. He was a devoted husband and lovingly cared for Mary especially over the last number of years as she struggled with some health issues. He will forever be remembered and sadly missed by all. The funeral service will be held at H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday, March 8 in the at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Please register at 519-773-8400 if you wish to attend. Masks are required. A livestream of the service will be available for anyone who wishes to attend remotely.
