Bob passed away peacefully at home on July 2nd, 2021 in his 85th year after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved wife and best friend Susan by his side. Loving and devoted father of Jeff (Shelley) and Janis (Neil). Cherished grandfather of Luke, Alisha and Brooke (Jamie). Loving uncle to Debbie, Natalie, John, Dustin, Denen, Kevin and Kayla. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Luella and brothers Lorne and Gary. Bob served in the RCMP & CSIS for 31 years. He had several detachment postings in Northern Ontario before being transferred to Special Branch in Toronto. He was sent to university in Ottawa and completed a BA & MA. There were several transfers between Ottawa and Toronto during his career. He also served as Liaison Officer for the RCMP in London, England. With the formation of CSIS in 1984, Bob became the Director General of CSIS for Toronto Region. He retired in September 1986 to become the Manager of Corporate Security for Imperial Oil where he spent the next 16 years. Bob and Susan enjoyed their retirement starting at their lake house on Lake Simcoe and then moving to Orillia. They spent their time travelling, boating, snowmobiling, and visiting family and friends. There were also many happy memories made at the camp on Manitoulin Island both with Susan and his hunting buddies. Bob was an active member of the RCMP Veterans Association, the Pillar Society (CSIS Vets), the Royal Canadian Legion, Twin Lakes Probus Club (past president), Champlain Seniors and the Orillia Shrine Club.
