Billie Faye Richards Sands – age 84 of Knoxville was born February 4, 1937 and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Billie was a devoted member of Stoney Point Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a warm and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.
Preceded in death by husband, Leonard Sands; grandson, Bruce Sands; and siblings, Roy Richards, Tom Richards, Alfred Richards, Albert Richards, Christine Reynolds, Clyde Richards, Trula Reno, Ruth Stiles, Jean Mincey, and Rachel Fortenberry.
Survived by son, David Sands; daughters, Angela (Dale) Ballard, Susan (John) Myers, and Sherry (Steve) Kuykendall; grandchildren, Steven (Felicia), Joey (Kalia), Nick, Chris (Tonya), Daniel, Hannah, Amber, Megan (Jason), Benjamin, Amanda (Paul), and David; 19 great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Rev. Wesley Pursiful and Rev. Donny Walker officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 AM on Monday at Bridges Funeral Home and go in procession to Pollard Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
