Obituary of Beverly Wiens
After a short battle with cancer, Beverly Wiens passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, surrounded by family.
Bev is survived by her husband Bernie, three daughters: Kelly (Mike), Cassie (Craig), Peggy (Jay); two sons: Brad (Jess) and Kevin; her grandchildren: Jody, Kalem, Cara, Ryan, Max, Amelia and Sophia; as well as her siblings: Darlene (Rod), Joan (Andy), Barry, and Wendy (Dave). Bev will also be missed greatly by her many nieces and nephews.
Bev was predeceased by her parents, Bernice (Nick) and Garnet Post, and Father-in-law Nick Wiens, her son Cameron, siblings: Warren, Wayne, Cal, Herb, Blaine and Andrea; and her best friends, Bev Jacks and Lori Wells.
Mom and Dad were happily married for 33 years, they enjoyed many vacations together and loved having date nights, and even had a very special date night in the hospital watching the Bombers win the Grey Cup the night before mom passed away.
Mom was an avid gardener and loved flowers, bonfires and watching the sunset. She was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren, and volunteering to help anyone and everyone.
Mom was employed at the University of Manitoba where she made many lifelong friends and retired in 2014. Mom loved her time at the University, but Dad always told her that she was meant to be an Event Planner, as anyone who has been to a shower planned by mom and her sisters would know.
Mom was a firm believer in helping those less fortunate. In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations for the Christmas Cheer Board at the service.
A celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside Ave, Winnipeg, MB. Followed by a lunch at Howden Hall CC. As per government regulations, all guests must be fully vaccinated and masks must be worn at both the service and lunch.
A special thank you to Gina, Dr.Menard, and Dr.Gingerich from Cancer Care at HSC. Bethesda Emergency Room Physicians Dr.Minnaar and Dr.Hoff and all of the Nurses and staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Beverly
