Obituary of Betty D’Agostini
Peacefully passed on November 18, 2021, at Northland Pointe in Port Colborne, after celebrating her 98th birthday with family in August. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Peter (Nov. 19, 1991) who died 30 years ago, less one day. Also predeceased by her sisters Eleanor Sathmary and Lorraine Stover, brothers Eddy Pinelli and Albert Pinelli, and their devoted parents Anna and Giacomo Pinelli, and by her son in law Joe Creighton. Devoted mother of Pauline Creighton and Linda Aulthouse and caring grandmother to Jessica (Jason) Code, Angela Lawrence, Amanda Creighton (Jordan), and Alicia Creighton. Betty’s great grandchildren Anthony, Phaedra, Josephine, and Talia brought so much joy and laughter to their beloved nonna. Also survived by her sister in law Naomi Pinelli, brothers in law Jack Stover and George Sathmary and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family meant everything to Betty, and she was devoted to her family’s well-being, always putting family first and making them feel so special and loved. Grandchildren, great grand children, great nieces, and nephews treasured the wonderful baby blankets that Betty lovingly crocheted for them.
Betty was an active volunteer for many years with Meals on Wheels and at Northland Pointe Tuck Shop. She enjoyed playing bocce at the Port Colborne Bocce Club where she was a member for many years. Betty was a long time member of St. John Bosco CWL.
The family extends sincere thanks to the caring staff of Northland Pointe.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and to minimize the risk to everyone, the family has requested there will be no visitation.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 375 Main Street West in Port Colborne. Due to COVID restrictions, attendance will be monitored and facemasks are required for the Funeral Mass. Rite of Committal to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
If so desired, memorial donations to Alzheimer Society Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
