Obituary for Betty Thomas
Betty Jean Thomas nee Genyn, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 6, 2021 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Gerald Thomas, married for 49 years. Betty was the daughter of Victor and Marion Genyn. Predeceased by her sister Bertha and Theresa and brother Ron. Survived by her sister Irene Dawson (Jack) and her brother Jerry Genyn (Marge). Loving mother of Richard Low (Karen), Robert Low (pre deceased), Alan Low, David Low (Rose), Andy Low (Joanne), Deborah Thomas (Mark), a proud and loving grandmother to Nicole, Jason, Mike, Kristen, Dave, Rob, Chris, Chance, Spencer, Amber, Gillian, and two others, Jason, Brad, Sam (Cayle), Brad, and Jess. Betty was a great grandmother to Cody, Braden, Christian, Riley, Olivia, Sophia, Avery, Caden, Olivia, Sophia, Dillon, Connor, Jayden, Bailey, Caitlin, Qayla, Robbie, Triston, Calvin, Alec, Dominick, Brayden, Owen, Avah, Avery, Arie (predeceased) Kelsey, Rilee, Wyatt, Sawyer, Rhys, Lillian. Betty was born in Wallaceburg, moved to Dartmouth in the late fifties, returned to Wallaceburg in 1969, where she met the love of her love, Gerald. Over the years, she worked at the Plastics, the bowling alley, Treasure Island and the Moose Lodge.

A private family gathering will be held at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg with interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
