Betty Lou Best (Hemsley/Pugh) of Port Rowan, Ontario
June 18, 1933 – February 15, 2021
On February 15, 2021 Betty Lou passed away in her sleep in her 88th year at the Norfolk General Hospital. Dear mother of Candace Hemsley Rockefeller (Dale), Spruce Robertson, Drew Hemsley (Steffani) and Rhonda Walmsley (Glenn). Cherished Granny of Amber, Kari, Drew, Nick, Hayden, Travis and Olivia. Great Granny of 4. Betty Lou is also survived by her brothers Jack Best (Nancy) and Eric Best (Debbie), 5 nieces and nephews and stepsons Peter and Paul Mak. Betty Lou grew up and lived in Simcoe for most of her life and then moved to Port Rowan where she was so proud to live independently. “Miss Betty Lou”, the dancing teacher was well known to many in the community and was involved with the Simcoe Little Theatre for many years. She was known to tell everyone that she had the most beautiful grandchildren in the world. A visitation will be held at The Ferris Funeral Home, 214 Norfolk St., S., Simcoe on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. when a private family service will be held. Due to Covid-19 regulations, members of the public who wish to attend the visitation must register with the funeral home by telephone (519-426-1314) or email (ferris@kwic.com). Masks must be worn.
