Obituary for Betty Lane
With great sorrow our family would like to announce the passing of our beloved mother Kathleen Elizabeth Lane “Betty” who slipped away peacefully late on March 18th, 2021 at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg, ON at the age of 95. Hailing from Halifax, NS, Betty moved to Whitby/Oshawa, ON in the 1950s with her husband Kenneth Lane and their eldest son Ken “Skip” (Jocelyne).There they would have three more children Allan (DJ), Christopher (Michelle) and Cindy (Dave) Bosy. Working at the Oshawa Times she then moved on to her career as a long-time Executive Secretary at Windfields Farm. She had a passion for music, movies and travelling which she has passed on to all of her children. She is survived by her children, her grandchildren Kimberly, Kristian, Aaron, Scott, Kaitlyn and Jazz as well as her 5 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband Ken, her sister Marion Thompson (nee Giles) and her brother Edward Giles. Betty will be forever missed. A private family celebration of Betty’s life and burial in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby, will be held at a later date. HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg entrusted with arrangements. If desired, donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
