Bernice’s Obituary
Surrounded by the love and support of her family, Bernice Monk passed away peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre in Brantford, on December 29, 2021. She was 87 years of age. Predeceased by her beloved husband Clayton Monk in 2019. Loved daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth Mannerow. Cherished mother of Elaine and Shawn. Sister of Jim Mannerow (Shirley) and the late Albert Mannerow (the late Irene).
In the early 70’s Bernice and her husband owned and operated Shaine Leather Goods in downtown Paris. Bernice also worked for many years at the Willett Hospital in Paris in both Reception and Admissions. When not working, Bernice counted sewing and reading as her favourite pastimes. Following retirement Bernice and Clayton finally had time to travel as much as possible. Arizona became a favourite destination. The Monk family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre for the excellent care Mom received during her stay there. A special thank you to Dr. Kulra and Nurses Kelly and Joanne.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home. In accordance with Bernice’s expressed wishes, cremation has already taken place. A time and place for a ‘Celebration of Life’ reception will be announced when the details become available. In Bernice’s memory donations to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre (www.sjlc.ca/) would be appreciated by the family.
