Obituary of Bernard Hickey
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Bernard Hickey on September 7, 2021.
Predeceased by his parents Fergus and Mary, brothers: Tony and Wilf, sister Cindy and niece Cindy,
Ben will be forever loved and remembered by his life-long partner Mary, his children: Mary Jane (Glenn),Jackie (John), John (Kim), Glenn (Roxanne) and Aundrea (Rick), 14 grandchildren including his pride and joys Sasha and Marquetta, 11 great grandchildren, brothers; Mike (Muriel), Duce (Pam), Butch (Diane), Loyola (Annemarie), Randal (Eileen), Max (Glorina), sisters: Kathleen (Camillus Gambin) and Mary-Lou, sisters in law Joan and Marjorie, a large number of nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Ben lived a very full life as a fisherman and being on the ocean is what he loved the most. When not in the boat he could be found at the cabin, accompanied by his loving dog, family and friends.
Ben will be remembered for his work ethic, heart of gold, and desire to help his fellow fisherman, friends and family.
Visitation will take place at Coombs Funeral Home on Wednesday September 8, 2021 from 6:00 – 9:00 and on Thursday from: 11:00 – 3:00 and 6:00 – 9:00.
Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia at 10:30 A.M.
Interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast.
