Bernard Capulak 2021

Bernard “Ben” Capulak ( May 30,1934-Sept 17,2021)
We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, father in law and friend Ben Capulak on Friday September 17, 2021 . He was born on May 30, 1934 to Johanna and John Capulak. He attended St. Peter and St. Patrick schools. He began with the police force in 1960 reaching the rank of staff sergeant in the Criminal Investigation Branch. He was a mentor to many and was considered a man of integrity and he was well respected by his fellow officers. He married the love of his life Alice in 1962. Ben and Alice were thrilled with the birth of their twin daughters and he was the best father anyone could ask for and fatherhood was very important to him. Ben was a kind and compassionate man volunteering with Via Vitae and at Grandview Lodge assisting with bringing residents to mass. He was an active member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic church for many years. Ben and Alice and their family enjoyed travelling throughout Canada, U.S and Europe and as a couple went on many cruises together. Ben enjoyed watching football on tv and he would have been thrilled to watch his grandson play this year. He was an avid reader and he had a keen interest in current affairs. Ben is survived by; his devoted wife Alice of 59 years who was a faithful caregiver these past three years, adoring twin daughters Kerri-Lynne Andrychuk and Sherri-Anne Tinnes and son in laws Mark Andrychuk and Dave Tinnes. Live was complete with the arrival of his grandchildren Brett Andrychuk and Tessa Tinnes, who provided him with immense joy. Arrangements are in care of Blakes Funeral Chapel and a private funeral service was had this week. We would be remiss if we did not mention the wonderful staff at Pioneer Ridge Plaza 2 who took such wonderful care of Dad and treated him as a family member. They treated him with immense love, respect and compassion. They also provided such comfort and support to his three girls during the last weeks of his life. We are thankful from the bottom of our hearts to Sherisse, Tanya, Ronnie, Andrea, Vicky, Sonja, Jennifer, Anna, Matt, Chris. Judy and Susie. Please forgive us if we left someone out. Our family would like to thank everyone who reached out to us this past week and who came to sit with us, pay their last respects to Dad and who sent meals, checked on us and were there for us in our time of grief. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Northern Reach Rescue Network, 612 Wiley St P7C 3N5 or a charity of your choice will be appreciated.
Ben/Papa/Dad we love you so much and you will live in our hearts forever.
