On January 3rd of 2021 Beatrice Duffy, 67, of North Bay, Ontario, passed away after a short battle with cancer. Beatrice was born on July 08, 1953 in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. Beatrice was predeceased by her beloved husband Owen Duffy. She is a loving sister to Breda (Noel), Kathleen (Derek), Tommy, Ruth, William, Paddy (Lisa), and Nuala (Karl) (predeceased). Beatrice is survived by her two daughters Martina Duffy (Michael Pigeau husband, Owen and Ethan grandchildren) and Fiona Duffy (Andrew Trerice husband, Donovan and Kieran grandchildren). Beatrice and Owen immigrated to Canada in 1978 and from that time they lived in Northern Ontario. Beatrice owned and operated Duffy’s family restaurant and Chip Truck in Manitouwadge, ON. Beatrice was a strong, family-oriented woman who loved visiting her family overseas and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known by all as a caring and happy person who would always go the extra mile to help those in need. Beatrice will be missed by all those whose lives she has touched, and will be remembered as a strong loving mother, the best “Nana”, and a person that can never be replaced in many people’s lives. There will be a service in Maynooth, Ireland once the Covid restrictions have been lifted. Cremation has taken place at Whispering Pines Funeral Home.
