Beatrice Evelyn Shipley Baptist Sunday June 27th 2021

Evelyn Beatrice Shipley passed away June 27, 2021 at the age of 99 years.
Our dear Aunt Bea was born February 1, 1922 at Rhein, SK to David Arthur Baptist and Georgina Elizabeth Baptist (nee Reekie). She was one of 14 children.
Beatrice moved with her family to a farm south of Star City in 1928. After completing her schooling, Beatrice worked in the local dry goods store. She also worked in a factory in Ontario during the war and returned to Star City area to be with her partner for life, Fred Shipley.
Beatrice married Frederick Shipley, Nov. 12, 1953 and together they farmed in the Norwood District until retiring to Star City in 1981. She enjoyed many interests and hobbies including bowling, curling, golfing, reading, and playing cards. Bea and Fred were also actively involved with the local Legion.
Beatrice was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Frederick Shipley. She is survived by her sister, Jean Hawrychuk and brother, Ross Baptist, both of Ontario; brother-in-law George Shipley; sister-in-law Edith Baptist; as well as many nieces and nephews across the country.
As per Bea’s request, no funeral service will be held. Internment will take place at a later date at Norwood Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Parkland Place for the wonderful care she received during her residency there. Memorial tributes may be made to Parkland Place Residents Fund, Box 2260 Melfort, SK S0E 1A0 or to a charity of your choice.
