1936-2021
Basil Paul Alward, 85 of Sus Corner and
formerly of Lower Ridge, Havelock passed away Friday, October 1, 2021
at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Lower Ridge, he was the son of the late
Laura Alward. Basil attended the Havelock Baptist Church, was a past
member of the Havelock Lions Club, a former member of the Masonic
Lodge and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion
Havelock.
He is survived and sadly missed by his wife of 36
years Freda (Steeves); children Derrick (Susan), Denise Jones (Steven)
and Gwen Dowling (John); step-son Barry Atkinson (Jeannie);
grandchildren Elizabeth, Amanda, Laura, Raymond, Joshua, Ashley and
Jasmine; four great grandchildren; brother Billy Cusack (Wendy);
sisters Betty McKnight (Allan) and Geraldine Cusack; brothers-in-law
Whitfield Steeves (Elva) and Lester Steeves (Patricia); sisters-in-law
Roberta Steeves (late Reilly) and Elsie Gregg (Gordon) and several
nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Beth
Fawcett.
A family graveside service will be held at the
Loyalist Cemetery, Havelock. Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury
Funeral Home (372-4800).
If desired, donations in memory of Basil to the
Loyalist Cemetery Fund or charity of choice would be appreciated by
the family.
