It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara (Barb) Marilyn Helen van Bakel who passed away peacefully on Friday August 27th, 2021, at home.
Born to Eldene and Thomas Stewardson March 1, 1944. Barb will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Loving sister of (late) Laverne Stewardson (Janice) and Beverly McClelland (Randy).
Cherished mother to Daniel van Bakel (Susan), Yolanda Renner (Phillip) and Derek van Bakel (Sandra). Remembered by Daniel van Bakel Sr. Special G-ma to the late Jordan Renner. Adored grandmother to Tyler Renner (Laura), Ashley van Bakel, Natasha Renner (Cody), Jessica van Bakel (Scott), Kyle van Bakel, Jessica Kristensen (Chris) and Dylan Vincent. Great-grandmother to Brielle, Lillith, Scarlett, Jordyn and Cameron.
Aunt to Nancy Ross (Paul), Rick Stewardson (Lori), Connie Rawlings (Don), Rob Stewardson (Lynda), Stacey McClelland Craig (James) and Craig McClelland.
Barb was a hard worker and a devoted RBC employee for many years in London, ON and Sault Ste Marie, ON. She was also a beloved member of her community and enjoyed volunteering at the Sault Area Hospital. Barb’s stories, smile and witty sense of humor will always be remembered by her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charitable organization of your choice.
As per Barb’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
