Aynsley Lee Anne (Geddes) Richard
1982-2021
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the
passing of Aynsley Lee Anne Richard (née Geddes) due to
complications from breast cancer on Friday, October 1, at The Moncton
Hospital, with loved ones by her side.
Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Lynne
Geddes (d/2012). She is survived by the love of her life,
husband Yves; dear aunt, Lee (“Auntie Bee”) Geddes (Allan
Chaulk); and grandfather, Alton (Gerry) Gardner
(“Mampy”). Aynsley will be sadly missed by
numerous members from the Geddes, Girvan, Gardner, Richard, Landry,
and Hébert extended families, as well as many friends and
wonderful neighbours.
Besides her mother, Aynsley was predeceased by grandmother,
Isabel Gardner (“Mammy”), in 2008.
Aynsley had the opportunity to live in different cities over
the years, moving with her mother to Dartmouth, NS; Gander, NL;
Edmonton, AB; and Ottawa, ON at various times in her life.
She travelled to, California, Europe, and New York City with her
mother, but her best-loved travel time was spent with Yves, on a daily
basis, going for local Moncton drives during the week, and exploring
the Province on weekends. For a number of years, she enjoyed
camping on weekends with Yves and their two beloved dogs, Riley and
Nyla.
The family would like to thank emergency room staff, Dr.
McCallum and Sylvain Pelletier, RN, and Palliative Care staff for the
care, attention, and compassion shown to Aynsley and Yves at such a
difficult time; and Dr. Abdelsalam and the Oncology team for their
care over the past two years. We would also like to send a
special thanks to Dr. John Park for the care shown to Aynsley
throughout most years of her life.
Special thanks to mother-in-law, Yvonne Landry, whose help,
patience and kindness through Aynsley’s last few days at home was
invaluable.
Visitation will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home, 330
Whitepine Road, Riverview, on Tuesday, October 5, from 2-4 and 6-8
p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to be held at the funeral home
on Wednesday, October 6, at 1 p.m. Masks, proof of double
vaccination, and photo ID will be required upon entering the funeral
home.
Donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation
(Oncology), the Atlantic Cancer Research Foundation, or a memorial of
the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Online condolences
may be expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca.
