It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Audrey Jo-Anne McLeod, age 72,
of Truro, formerly of Springhill, NS. Audrey passed away
after a 2 year battle with Breast Cancer on Thursday December 23, 2021
at the Colchester Regional Hospital.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter
of the late John and Edna May (Ryan) Kavalak.
Audrey, much like her mother, loved with
her whole heart and was a fierce supporter of her family.
She spent the last decade of her mother’s life looking after her in
her home. She loved to bake and you could not enter her home
without her offering and re-offering copious amounts of coffee and
sweets. She loved to spend time with her
grandchildren.
After several years of heartbreaking
loss, the time came for her to join those she missed so
much. Her parents, her brothers Norman, Charles and Tommy
Kavalak, and her most recent loss, the loss that hit her the hardest
and from which she never recovered, her son Sean Andrew
McLeod. What a reunion that must have been.
Missing her the most here on Earth is
her loving husband of 53 years Dale McLeod; sons Scott (Charline) and
Chris (Susan); grandchildren Alex, Isabelle, Samantha, Paige and
Amielia. She will also be missed by sister in law Jude
Kavalak; special nieces, Marla and Stacy; cousins Joanne Griffon and
Kathy Sorensen; best friend of over 45 years Brenda
Angers.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361). In keeping
with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside
service beside her son in the Hillside Cemetery will take place at a
later date.
Donations in Audrey’s memory may be made
to the Cancer Society, or the charity of your
choice.
Audrey’s family wishes to extend a
heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the
Colchester Regional Hospital, and to all of those who visited and
showed her love during her illness.
