Passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 68. Assa Singh lived his life happily with his wife Hardeep Kaur Sekhon, son Ajitpal Sekhon (wife Paramjeet Sekhon) and RavinderPal Sekhon (wife Manmeet Sekhon), grandsons Yuvraj Sekhon and Rajveer Sekhon.
Born on January 2, 1953 in Khukhrana, Punjab, India, Assa Singh had an infectious smile and affable personality. His kind and gentle spirit put others at ease in any situation. He served in Indian Navy until 1983 and as a Marine Engineer in Merchant Navy until 2010. While achieving professional success, his main focus was to love and care for his family; he would do anything for them. His great adoration for his parents and brother, sisters provided him with constant happiness. Assa Singh lived his life following the Sikh faith, he was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, cousin, friend and overall a great human being. He was a person full of life and never gave up in any tough situation.
He settled in Canada in 2015 with his family. He was volunteering for Indo-Canadian Community Association as a Vice-President with a spirit of helping the society with all the extensive knowledge he had. His smile and caring nature will resonate forever in the hearts and minds of those that were so privileged to know Assa Singh. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Country Hills Crematorium & Funeral Services, 11995, 16 Street NE. Prayer Service will follow at Gurudwara Sahib Dashmesh Culture Centre, Calgary.
