Greene, Arthur Milton, passed away December 26,2021 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Kemptville, February 16,1928, he was the son of the late Gifford and Theta (Sabean) Greene. Arthur was married to the late Ruth (Prosser) Greene. He is survived by his brothers, Lyndon (Patricia), Port Perry, ON; Ivan (Joyce), Kemptville; Eric (Bonnie), Oshawa, ON; brother-in-law, Charles Prosser, Oshawa, ON; many cousins; nephews and nieces; great nephews and nieces; great great nephews and nieces. Aside from his parents and his wife he was predeceased by, brothers and their wives, Henry (Nellie); Victor (Leona); Gifford (Shirley); Sherman (Mirian); sister and husband, Lina (Lawrence) Roberts; sister-in-law, Jean Prosser; father and mother-in-law, Robert (Hazel) Prosser. Arthur and Ruth moved to Oshawa, ON shortly after their marriage where he worked at Oshawa Fittings. For most of his career he worked at Ideal Dairy where he worked his way up to manager after Beatrice Foods bought Ideal Dairy. (Approx. 50 years). Four younger brothers lived with them for a period of time until such time as they moved out and got married. Ruth’s parents also lived with them for a time. They traveled to many parts of the world on business trips. He loved to golf and curl, snowmobiling, boating, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed wood carving and carpentry projects. They hosted many family gatherings at their cottage on Lake Scugog. They moved back to Kemptville in the early 2000’s after Art retired. He was Uncle Art to many others besides his family and will be greatly missed by all. Memorial Service will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 2p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Rhyno officiating. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Kemptville. Covid 19 protocols will be in place and proof of vaccination will be required to attend the Memorial Service. For those who will not be able to attend there will be a live webcast on the Sweeny’s Funeral Home website.
