Chittick, Arthur “Duncan” – age 80, passed away in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a lengthy illness, on June 28, 2021.
Duncan was the youngest son of the late Douglas and Gertrude (Martin) Chittick.
Duncan loved his family and he loved life. He achieved great pleasure from pursuing his passion for fishing, hunting, trapping and spending time at his camp. He was also a skilled marksman and shot competitively. He had great memories of moose hunting in Newfoundland with his son, Duncan, and of attending the wrestling matches of his younger son, Devin. He was a skilled lumberjack and, with his wife, Catherine, operated a Forestry Contracting business for many years.
Duncan was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by sons, Duncan (Tracy) and Devin; and their mother, Catherine, grandsons, Michael and Liam, granddaughters, Stephanie and Darianne, great-grandsons, Thomas and Bradley; sisters, Bette Wrathall and Dede Hubley; and many nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and will always live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He was predeceased by brothers, William and Raymond; sisters, Barbara Naugler, Shirley Wight and Jennie Levy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of N.S. or Canadian Diabetes Association.
We will envision him with a smile, lining up his sights on a monster moose in the Happy Hunting Grounds.
