Pelham, Arthur Charles – With deep regrets we announce the passing of Art Pelham, age 87, on April 5, 2021. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Edwin and Elizabeth (Coleman) Pelham.
Art is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice “Jan Belle” (Wood) Pelham; sons, Douglas (Deborah) and Lorne (June), both of Truro; Jeffrey (Shelley), Halifax; Joseph (Andrea), Hampton, NB; and chosen son, Jeffrey Wood, Halifax; granddaughters, Rachel Hamilton (Nicki), Victoria Pelham (Phil Walsh), Madison Pelham (Chandler Scott), Emma Pelham and Brooke Pelham; sister, Madeline Prowse of Cranbrook, BC; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Sharon Wood; friend and biscuit lady, Barb Gorman.
He was predeceased by brothers, Harold and Howie; sisters, Mary, Annie and Doreene.
He retired from the Canadian National Railway after working 29 years. Art was an avid hockey and baseball fan. He followed the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, and Pelham Electric baseball team.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Mahon Cemetery in Great Village.
Donations may be made to Mahon Cemetery, or your charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
