Anton’s Obituary
It is with sad hearts, the family of the late Anton Kosar announce his passing on March 18, 2021, at the age of 73 years.
Anton was born to David and Sophie (Rakochy) Kosar in Canora, SK, on January 27, 1948. He attended Badgerdale School until grade eight. Upon completion of his education, Anton drove school bus for about ten years.
Anton met Leona Chabun and they were united in marriage in 1969. Together, Anton and Leona were blessed with two children, Sheri and Kristen.
Anton farmed for many years. In addition to farming, he hauled gravel with Belows Trucking. Later, he went to work for Maxminuk Trucking in Alberta. He enjoyed his trucking career until he fell ill with his heart condition. Once Anton retired, he spent his time with family and friends. He loved working with his brother, Leonard, tilling gardens around the community. He also enjoyed collecting various treasures.
Anton took great pride in his grandchildren, Michael and Danielle Burym. He loved spending time with them, no matter what activity they did. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Anton was predeceased by his parents, David and Sophie Kosar; his brother, Emil Kosar; parents-in-law, Mike and Jean Chabun; brother-in-law, Glen Chabun; sister-in-law, Lynda; and son-in-law, Brian Burym.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Kosar; daughters, Sheri Kosar and Kristen (Jarret Koroluk) Kosar; grandchildren, Michael and Danielle Burym; brothers, Leonard (Linda) Kosar and Dymetro Kosar; and sisters, Gloria (Allan) Demchuk, Christine (Marcelle) Mudry, and Darlene (Jerry) Hancheroff; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In Anton’s honour, a memorial ceremony will take place at a later time.
Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Anton Kosar.
