Anthony “Tony” Rossong
1956-2021
Tony Rossong, 64, of Martin’s Point, NS.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden
passing of our beloved father, brother, and friend to so many, Tony,
better known as the “D”, passed away on Friday, May 14th
2021.
Tony was born in Canso, NS, on Dec 8th 1956 to Doug and Essie Rossong
(Murphy) (Deceased).
Tony is survived by his wife of 37 years, Beth; sons, Bobby (Laura)
and Ben (Courtney); his beloved black lab, Ruby and grand-pug, Huey.
He is also survived by his sister, Polly (John) Hagar; brothers, Gary
(Darlene) Rossong and Randy Rossong. He is survived by sister-in-
laws, Sandra MacDonald (Murray, deceased), Jackie Matheson (Ross,
deceased), Marilyn (George) Milbury; brother-in-laws, Bobby Roach and
Gary Breau (Darlene). Tony leaves behind and will be forever
remembered by a large group of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and
great nephews who loved him dearly.
Tony was predeceased by his brothers, Doug (Maureen) Rossong and
Bradley Rossong as well as sister-in-laws, Debbie (Doug) MacDonald and
Robyn (Gary) Breau.
From the day Bobby and Ben were born their father was there for them
in every way. Tony was at every event, football, hockey, basketball
and even spent a few years coaching them both in baseball. One of his
favorite things to do was play a round of golf with his boys. Tony
was a great father figure to more than just his own sons. He was
always caring and happy to hear about what was going on in their
friend’s lives as well. As soon as the boys and their friends
would arrive at our home Tony would begin to do his favorite thing –
cooking. It is hard to remember a time when the basement wasn’t
filled with food and laughter. Tony always saying “ it
doesn’t get any better than this”.
Before retiring Tony spent many years in the oil business both running
his own company for 16 years then spending the rest of his working
years with Wilson’s Fuels, a company he so enjoyed working for.
Making many lasting friends. Once he retired Tony finally got his
well deserved time off to enjoy his new home, great neighbors, and the
community he loved, Martin’s Point, NS. As much as people loved
Tony, it would be fair to say that animals may have loved him even
more. He was known by many as “The Dog Whisperer” for the
special bond he had with animals.
Special thanks to the Mahone Bay EHS and the South Shore Regional
Hospital, Bridgewater.
Due to the current restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at

Death notice for the town of: Mahone-Bay, Province: Nova Scotia
Dear Beth and family,
Our most sincere sympathies in the loss of your Tony
. When i think of Tony, a smile is automatic. He was a part of growing up on Beech St, always around with the gang of the local boys and often at our door waiting for Jamie.
Over the years I didn’t have too much direct contact with him, but always heard of him through Jamie and then on occasion seeing him driving /delivering oil and that was always a bright moment in the day!
May you find solace in your family and years of wonderful memories.
Love, Heather Hardiman and Darren Levy
