It is with deep regret that
the family of Annie Love (Sturgeon) Matchett announce her passing on
January 21, 2021, at The Moncton Hospital.
Annie was born in Boom Road,
NB on February 23, 1932, to the late Harry Sturgeon and the late
Bernie (Sherrard) Sturgeon. She is survived by her children Todd
Matchett (Renee), Phoenix, AZ and Twila (Glynn Johnston) Moncton, NB,
and grandchildren, Jill Horsman (Robert Willmore) of Harrietsville, NS
and Drake Horsman, Moncton, NB and Kade Matchett (Annalee), Kennedy,
Kaja and Kenzie Matchett, Phoenix, AZ, and great grandchildren, Zoe
and Lyla Willmore, whom she also called her precious angels. She is
also survived by brother-in-law Russell Matchett (late Peggy),
sisters-in-law, Vinna Pierce (late Basil, Shirley Thurber (Bill),
Marilyn O’Neal (late Don), O’Dessa Christensen
(Jerald) and Kay Hyslop (Chester). As well as several nieces and
nephews. She is also survived by her best friend of 72 years, Betty
Budd.
Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Eldon Matchett
(1995), and brothers, Murray Sturgeon (late Lillian) and Eddie
Sturgeon (late Pearl) and sister, Elsie Sturgeon.
Due to the current
restrictions with COVID-19, a service to celebrate Annie’s
life will be held at a later date.
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657
Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) have been entrusted with
arrangements.
In memory of Annie, donations
to the Canadian Breast Cancer Network would be appreciated. Online
