Obituary of Annette Gabrielle Verrier
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Annette Gabrielle Verrier on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB.
She left us at the age of 82 years (born on June 7, 1939).
She is survived by her loving husband René Verrier and will be greatly missed by her son: Louis Verrier (Lori), her three daughters: Annette Jr. (Murray Gauthier), Lucille, Lorraine (Dan Saltel); her eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Annette will be deeply missed by her two brothers: Claude (Marie-Paule), René (Florence) and sisters-in-law: Yolande (Marcel Simard), and Marie, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her father Rene Bourgouin; her mother Joséphine (nee Gregoire); brothers Joseph and Marcien; and sister Rose.
Annette was a kind, compassionate woman, who enjoyed helping others. During her life, she worked in the office at the family business (Rene’s Esso Service in Richer) while bringing up her family. She loved family gatherings and card game nights with family and friends. She would be the first at the card table and the last to leave. She always had a great sense of humour and joked to the very last days of her life.
Above all she loved and adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her world! If you were lucky enough to be present when she gazed into the children’s faces, the pure joy radiating from her would blind you. Annette wanted nothing more for them than to have a wonderful, and loving life.
Annette was so loved; she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre Hospital (GA5 ward).
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
A private family ash interment will be held at a later date.
