Obituary of Anne Karpinchick
KARPINCHICK, Anne Marion (Videki)
June 7, 1931 – October 15, 2021
Our special angel passed away, peacefully at Portal Village on Friday, October 15, 2021, in her 91st year. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Jo-Ann, Karen Munday (Grant), John (Wendy), Chris (Lesha); grandchildren: Grant Munday (Melissa), Brandon Munday (Tracy), Jordan (Elizabeth), Cote Barkley, Brookelyn (Adam), Jersie; great grandchildren: Milena and Benjamin Munday, Jesse Dickie, Eleanor Karpinchick; sister Margaret Videki, brother Joseph Videki (Toni) and sister-in-law Mary Karpinchick (late Jack); as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband John and her parents: Joseph and Mary Videki. Ann was born St. Catharines, raised in Welland, and later moved to Port Colborne in the family home built by our father (best house in Port Colborne) to raise their family. With over 38 years of service at Bell Canada as an operator/supervisor Ann retired in April of 1991. Ann loved to go to the casino, Las Vegas, shop, and she loved and cherished angels. She took shopping to the next level, and we are sure the gift shop at Portal Village will truly miss her. She always made sure she brought a gift of some sort whether it was a bag of candy, chocolates, flower, or a trinket to everywhere she went, be it the dentist, doctor’s office, for a visit, you name it. Ann had a hidden artistic talent at Portal Village which can be shown by her many paintings she has left for us to enjoy and treasure. She was the kindest and most caring person you would of want to of had as a friend, before her passing she made sure we all received our Thanksgiving gift and opened them and thanked her, that was the last time she spoke, this will be our last gift from her to cherish.
“When someone dies, an angel is there to meet them at the gates of Heaven to let them know that their life has just begun.” Author Unknown.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Portal Village for their care and compassion Ann received during her time there. Anne’s family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Private family service to be held in the Davidson Chapel on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
