Obituary of Anne Hartley
Marjorie “Anne” (Mills) Hartley of Fredericton passed away suddenly at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on September 16, 2021. Born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) Ontario in 1932, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie (Stirrett) and Walter Mills.
Anne is survived by Cliff, her beloved husband of 66 years; one daughter, Eleanor Jampen, husband Ruedi and children, Alexandra, Cedric and Adrian, all of Chestermere, Alberta; three sons, Calum of Longlac Ontario; Stephen, wife Carla, daughters Maria and Emily of Fredericton; Ian, wife Isobel, children Laura, Glenn and Stuart of Prince George, British Columbia; two brothers, Brian Mills of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Grant Mills, sister-in-law Betty of Mississauga, Ontario; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by two brothers, George Mills, sister-in-law Elizabeth, and Bruce Mills, sister-in-law Shirley.
Anne attended North Bay Normal School and taught in Schumacher, Ontario, Longlac (where she met Cliff), Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and Nackawic NB. Over the years she volunteered for the Cancer Society, Laubach Literacy, group committee for cubs, and served on library, church and school boards. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, Hanwell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. A private burial will take place in the St. James Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hanwell, with Reverend Wendy MacWIlliams officiating.
