Anne Zaboroski (Nee Weresuik)
7 July 1929 – 17 February 2021
Peacefully, in her sleep, Anne passed at the age of 91, in Betel Home in Gimli, Mb.
Mom was born and raised in Shorncliff, Mb, the second of six children. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Michael and Eva (nee Shoclas); her brother, John; her sisters, Florence, Jean and Stella; and her husband, John.
Anne and John met in school and married on May 7, 1949. They lived awhile in Shorncliff, then Riverton, and eventually settled in Winnipeg Beach in 1967. During this time, they raised three children: Dennis, Lenny and Debbie. Mom was a wonderful farm wife and mother – always busy cooking, cleaning, gardening, mowing – and also worked outside the home as a Hostess and trainer at the Beach Tower Restaurant. But her real skill and true nature was in Loving! She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was adored by all who knew her!
Anne is survived by her sister, Olga; her children, Dennis (Dawn), Lenny (Anne), and Debbie (Dennis); grandchildren, Alex (Trish), David (Danielle), Gillian (Shawn), Paul, Jeanna, Aaron (Taylor), Austin, Madison, and Soren; great-grandchildren, Easton, Nevin, Koldan, Brooklyn, Zennon, and Layla; and numerous extended family and friends who will all miss her greatly.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Betel Home for making Mom’s last two years comfortable and safe. We have been blessed to be able to spend the last week at her side, after a year of restricted visitation.
In light of current COVID restrictions, a private funeral will be held and a recording of the Mass will be available to be viewed via her obituary at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to: CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
