Obituary for Anne Murphy
Catherine Mary Anne ‘Anne’ Murphy, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at Fairfield Park on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the age of 76. Catherine is the daughter of the late Emerson & Mary Catherine (Adams) McNair. Beloved wife of the late Marvin Clarence Murphy. Loving mother of Tina Mapletoft (Larry), Tracey Maxim (Bill) and Tammy Murphy (Justen). Dear grandmother of Matthew (Courtney), Ryan, Brad and Megan. Sister of Mickey, Neil and the late Barry. As the President of the Parents Association at Robarts School for the Deaf in the 90’s, Anne advocated with the Deaf community to keep the school open. Anne was a breast cancer survivor, avid reader, yard sale bargain hunter, green thumb gardener and dog lover, but her passion was her grandchildren – never once missing one of their sporting events. While residing at Fairfield Park, Anne spent many hours crocheting milk bag carpets for people in third world countries to sleep on. She enjoyed going for walks with her friends, playing cards and chatting with other residents and staff. They were like family to her. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg. If desired, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
