Anna Inka 2021

Obituary of Anna Inka
Inka, Anna
Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late George (Juris) Muskats. Loving mother of John Blaubergs (Ellen). Special friend of Penny. Anna will be missed and fondly remembered by the Kraemer, Sotirakos and Whitten families, and many friends.
Anna’s life journey began on January 8, 1924 in Liepaja, Latvia. Like many citizens of war-torn Europe, she and her family faced and overcame many difficult challenges as post-war Displaced Persons; they resided in a Belgian DP camp before emigrating to Canada in 1950. Rouen-Noranda, Québec was her first Canadian home; then Toronto and Richmond Hill. She joined John and Ellen at Bass Lake in 2006.
After waitressing at Swiss Chalet for numerous years, Anna remained with its parent company, Cara Foods, and took on more senior roles. Always stylish, she travelled extensively throughout Canada, as well as to Dublin and Cairo, as a restaurant staff trainer. She and George loved spending their summers pool side while Aruba and Las Vegas were favourite winter destinations. In later years, joining John and Ellen on holidays created new memories.
The professionalism and compassion of Dr. William Tillmann, and the Soldiers’ IMRS staff is gratefully acknowledged. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E Orillia (705) 327-0221.
