Obituary
Renee was born in Portage La Prairie, MB on May 20, 1969 to Joe and Lydia Malcolm. She was the eldest of four children. Renee was pre-deceased by her Grandparents Joseph and Sarah Beaulieu, Charlie and Madeline Malcolm, Her parents Joe and Lydia Malcolm and many other special family members.
Renee leaves behind her boys who she loved dearly Lance, Walter and Michael John and her very special Granddaughter who she adored, Joleigh. Renee was so excited to become a Koko and loved having Joleigh around. Joleigh definitely held a special place in her heart.
She also leaves behind her brothers, Joe his children Justin, Wendel & Maddie and Harvey (Elana) their children Emily & Avery, sister Wendy (Mike) their children Ethan, Brett & Rayden, special close friends Sherri, Tammie, Melodie, Lucinda, Charlotte and her special cousins Amanda,Cheryl, and Vanessa also her very close Aunties Loreyann and Kotey Ko (Karen) who also held a special place in her heart and spent lots of time being with them when she could. They must have some stories to tell I’m sure. She also leaves behind two large families from Sandy Bay and Ebb and Flow First Nation.
In her final days we give a very special Thank you to our cousin Patty, her daughter Rhiannah and also Sherri who were able to provide support to Renee at home where she truly wanted to be in her final days. We also take comfort that her boys had that time with their mom in her final days. You gave her what she wanted and we are thankful for that. Renee had very strong faith and prayed all the time, she was so strong and brave as she battled her diagnosis of cancer back in 2016. She lived life to the fullest and didn’t let anything slow her down. She fought hard and was so brave right until the end. She prepared us all for this day.
Renee worked in many positions in administration and child welfare, she was always on the road transporting children for visits. We would always wonder where she was off to today. She put many miles travelling the highways. Renee had a passion for beading and always had her beading bag with her and would show off her latest masterpiece. She could sit for hours beading and eating her sunflower seeds. She would be honoured to have a request for something beaded. Treasure your beaded pieces if you have one. Renee’s other passion was her love of Bingo and chasing the accumulators. She was a loyal bingo player in Sandy Bay and was able to yell Bingo the odd time. When Wednesday came around we always knew she would be making her way to Sandy Bay.
Our parents raised us to attend church at Kateri Parish, Mom and Renee started the Young Children and Worship program. She eventually took over teaching the young children on Sundays. She took pride in teaching the lessons and instilling faith in the young children. Renee was always a big help, helping Dad at the hockey tournaments or getting one of his cars to the car show. She missed our parents very much after they passed but, she is now reunited with them again. Renee was such a loving, giving and caring person. If you had the honour to have her in your life you know how true this is. She would always be there for you if you needed a helping hand.
You will be missed by many even your special animals, but we will treasure all the memories that we have. Watch over us.
Heartfelt Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses who tended to our dear sister throughout her treatments and in her final days. Thank you for your compassion.
As per Renee’s wishes, she wanted to be laid to rest in Sandy Bay next to her parents.
Miigwech for all the prayers.

We Love You
