Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ann Marie Paul (Corvec) announce her passing at the Shannex on August 14, 2021. Born in Saint John on February 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George and Georgie Corvec (VanWart) and wife of Gaylon Paul.
Ann loved her family and friends and took joys in the small things in life. Whether it was sitting in the sun chatting or enjoying a meal, Ann treasured everything. With a gift of gab, Ann loved sharing stories and talking with anyone she met. A woman who was thoughtful and appreciative beyond measure, her warmth will always be felt. Growing up with 13 siblings, Ann learned to be caring and strong from an early age. She talked fondly of her childhood and reminisced of walking uptown and going to dances at Lily Lake.
In her early days, Ann worked at Simms and then left to raise her family. She spent time working at the Grand Bay Drive In and later as a room attendant for 16 years at the Comfort Inn. She was one to never shy away from hard work and was always keeping herself busy.
In addition to her loving husband of 57 years, Gaylon, Ann is survived by her children and their spouses whom she adored, Debra and Keith Beddow and Stephen Paul and Laura Anderson. Ann is survived by two grandchildren, Dylan Paul and Mackenzie Beddow (Ryan) and three great grandchildren, Grayson, Neveah and Amaleah.
Ann is also survived by siblings, many of whom she helped to raise, George Corvec, John Corvec (Carol), Bob Corvec (Jennifer), Barbara Raynes, Joan Baldock, Sandra Corvec, Carol Corvec, Cathy Armstrong (Gary), Debbie Robichaud (Doug), and Brenda Ellsworth (Bob).
In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her sisters Marion Newell and Betty Byars, brother Ronald Corvec and grandson, Devan Paul.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Shannex, although her time living there was short, we took comfort in her care. As well, to Nicole McMackin with Extra-Mural who went above and beyond for our mother.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424), with visitation on Tuesday, August 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 18 at 10 a.m., with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.
