Peacefully at the Dundas Manor Nursing Home in Winchester on Saturday, December 4, 2021, Ann Cross (nee Porteous) of Chesterville, age 80. Beloved wife of the late Donald Cross. Loving mother of Brenda Cross (Craig Sindall) of Harrowsmith and Brent Cross (Jody) of Chesterville. Dear sister of Bob Porteous (Jean) of Winchester, Betty Skuce (Erwin) of Winchester, Barbara Merkley (Jim) of Morewood, Keith Porteous (Helen) of Vernon, Stephen Porteous (Barbara) of Morrisburg and Ron Porteous (Kim) of Winchester. Dear sister-in-law of Marlene Black (late Douglas), Nancy Edgerton (John) and David “Shiny” Cross, all of Chesterville. Ann will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jayden, Danten, Adam (Ashley), Brent (Candace), Matt (Holly) and her great-grandchildren Craig, Darren and Lily. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Bertha Porteous, her infant sisters Linda and Sheila Porteous, her sister Judy St. Pierre and her brother Eric Porteous. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
A public graveside funeral service will be held at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville on Friday, December 10th at 11 a.m. A celebration of Ann’s life will follow at the Chesterville Legion from 11:30-3 p.m. Double vaccination is required to attend the celebration of life. Donations to Dundas Manor Nursing Home would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
