Anita F. Osborne
It is with much sadness and grief, but a lifetime of warm memories, that daughter Kimberly Bruce (David) and son Kurt Osborne (Lynn) share this difficult news. Mom passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in her 77th year on June 10, 2021 after a brave battle with lung cancer. Mom was a devoted Nana to Mikayla and Kieran and was predeceased by our Dad, Edward Osborne (2015).
Amongst those mourning with us is Ed Moss, who recently came into Mom’s life and married her over 4 years ago. Ed’s family and friends, as well as the Wilmot Creek community also share in our loss. Mom was very close with her sister Bernice (Glynn) Bartlett and her dear friend M.C. Leaver, with whom she shared a long friendship after graduating University as mature students. Also grieving is her sister-in-law Leona Thornhill, widow of Mom’s brother Bert.
Mom was a longtime TDSB (Toronto District School Board) employee, retiring in 2000. She then volunteered with The Salvation Army and tutored students in an afterschool program.
Mom was a modest, one-of-a-kind lady, whose passions besides family and friends included gardening, poetry, nature & nature photography. Her poetry was published and she won awards for many of these hobbies. She also loved to play golf and stroll along her favorite beaches in Florida. Indoors, Mom loved baking, cooking and knitting. And we can’t forget to mention pugs. This was best illustrated by her love for her own dogs Luie and Shadow and her inability to walk past any pug without bending over to say hello. To say Mom was a go-getter who barely slowed down would be a tremendous understatement. She will be greatly missed.
A private family funeral and internment will take place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Canadian Cancer Society.
