Obituary
In loving memory of Anita Couchie, she began her spiritual journey on July 23, 2021 after a long 7 1/2 year courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Beloved wife and best friend of Brian Couchie, cherished mother of Bryan (Bubba) (Tanya), Whitney (Anthony), and loving grandma of Hailey, Emmalynn, Katelynn, Maximus and her furry friend Kato IV. Anita grew up in Blezard Valley with her parents and eleven siblings until she moved to North Bay to attend Canadore College. There she met Brian, the love of her life and they were married for 39 years. Anita loved family gatherings, especially at Christmas time and at their annual fish fry, where there was plenty of her famous “fried bread” for everyone to enjoy. Anita had a great sense of humour and quick wit; she was a kind, caring and loving person who put her family first ahead of everything else. She loved to knit, do crafts and especially spend time with her grandkids. They were her pride and joy, and they will have memories of the best grandma in the world! It is tough to say goodbye to Anita, but we know that her spirit will always be with us. Anita was predeceased by her parents Harold and Bertha Langen (née Rainville), her sister Dolores Gagnon (Roger Carmen) and her in-laws Ephraim and Barbara Couchie (née Commanda).
Anita was very much loved and will be forever cherished and greatly missed by her siblings, Allan (Lorraine), Diane Frenette (Roger predeceased), Marie Beaulieu (Rick), Jocelyn Mcllvenna (Robert), Ken (Carol), Helen (Brian), Sylvia Kretzschmar (Daryl predeceased), Elaine Horne (Bill), Lisa Murdoch (Brendan), and Doreen Hope (Eugene). Also, her sisters and brothers-in-laws, Don (Donna), Stan, Wally, Les (Marylou McKean), Reno, Doug, Mike (Fran), Dean (Donna), Ron, George (Carolyn), Marylynn Restoule (Jack), Lily (Jim). To be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
