Angus Buttler
– age 90, of Kentville, passed away on Tuesday, August 17,
2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canaan, he
was a son of the late Grant and Sarah (Rogers) Butler. Angus
was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the Princess
Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He was later
employed as a driver and salesman for several companies including the
Wolfville Holland Bakery, Cornwallis Dairy and Ben’s Bread
Ltd. In semi-retirement, he had been employed with Western
Tire and later Pipeline, New Minas. He was a long-time
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch #6, Kentville
serving in various positions on the executive. He is survived by his
wife of 60 years, Helen (Atwell); sons, Shane (Cindy), Wilmot; Dwayne
(Maria-Jane), Hants Border; Trevor (Lorri), Arlington; sisters, Viola
DesRoches, Ottawa and Catherine Garner, Florida; many nieces, nephews
and extended family. He was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite
Morine; brothers, Grant and Leonard. A graveside service
will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in the Gaspereau
Cemetery, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A video webcast of the
service will be available at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021,
accessed by visiting www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com. Please
feel free to bring a chair should you wish to sit during the service.
Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital
Foundation or the Forest Hill Baptist Church. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
