It is with great sadness that the family of Andrew Melvin George 54, of Lunenburg, announces his passing on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, peacefully at home.
Born in Lunenburg, Andrew was the son of the late Gilbert Melvin and Charlotte Faye (Varner) George.
Andrew graduated Parkview Education Centre in 1985 and successfully completed a course in Metal Working the following year. He began fishing shortly after birth, and lobstering not long after, worked at the Fish Plant, ABCO and the Lunenburg Foundry, fixed many cars and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Andrew is survived by sons, Axel Duffey, Allen and Jayden, Bridgewater, sisters, Angela (Jonah and Caitlyn Doherty), Bridgewater, Annette (Corey), Bridgewater; Kelly (Ryan) Lower Sackville; Shelly (Jesse and Bianca), Bridgewater; brothers, Sheldon and Adam (Emma), Martin’s Point.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Allen, 2 babies at birth, grandparents, Maurice and Ruby (Joudrey) Varner, New Germany and Bessie (Wryter) and Roland George, Canso
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and from where a private funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Rev. Dr. Laura Marie Piotrowicz officiating. Interment to follow in Garden Lots Cemetery, Garden Lots.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the SHAID Tree animal Shelter.
