Perry, Andrew Lee –
55, of Truro, Colchester County, passed away peacefully surrounded by
his wife and daughters at the Colchester East Hants Health Center on
Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Born October 31, 1965 in Plaster Rock, New
Brunswick, he was a son of Elsie (Stickles) Perry and the late John
Lawrence. Andrew is survived by his wife, Leona (Zwicker); his two
daughters, Megan and Rachel; brother, David; and many nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Lorene and brother,
John.
Andrew was introduced
to the fishing business by working with his father at Granville Gates
and Sons in Hubbards, Nova Scotia. He then continued his career in the
fish and food industry at various companies for 17 years before he
began working at Michelin North America Canada Inc. in 2005. He
enjoyed his work as a senior buyer at Michelin where he made long
lasting friendships with his coworkers. Andrew was very
devoted to his family, he was a proud father, loving husband and was
extremely close to his mother and brother. Andrew loved
spending time with his wife and his two daughters whether it was
traveling, walking in Victoria Park, or on the golf course. His most
treasured moments were in Hawaii with his family, especially the climb
to Koko Head in Honolulu. Even during his illness, Andrew enjoyed
every moment he stepped on the tee box at Truro Golf Club with his
playing partners or his family. He also cherished the time spent with
his mother on the golf course and the many tournaments they played in
together.
Andrew made peace with
his cancer diagnosis very early, “I knew I could never beat this
cancer but I will fight it until the end”. His health care team
was amazed that after treatments he would leave the hospital and go
straight to the golf course. We would like to thank Dr. Chris Cook,
Dr. Stephanie Hiebert and her surgical team, Dr. Ravi Ramjeesingh, Dr.
Donald Rowe, Julia and the oncology team, the palliative care team,
VON nurses and all of the health care staff along the way. Andrew
always expressed his extreme gratitude to the health care system for
the excellent care he received during his
illness.
A Celebration of
Andrew’s Life will be held 6-9 pm on Friday, August 20, 2021
at the Truro Golf Club. A private family interment will take
place in Bible Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
donations in memory of Andrew to Colchester East Hants Health Centre

Death notice for the town of: Truro, Province: Nova Scotia
Andrew was a tremendous person. He welcomed me to Michelin 8 years ago. He escorted me to all the manufacturing sites, introduced me to many people, and made me feel like part of the team. Andrew and I had many conversations regarding supplier negotiations, particularly energy suppliers. We also enjoyed discussing our families, our golf games, and various other topics along the way. We will miss him for sure. My deepest sympathies for the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
