Amanda Dawn Muis Brown 19842021

Amanda Dawn Muis Brown
1984-2021
Amanda Dawn Muis Brown, 37 years old of Steam Mill, NS passed
away surrounded by love, laughter and her family on June 22,
2021.
This strawberry and beef farm raised girl left the comfort of
Nova Scotia to sail around the world on the Barque Picton Castle in
2003. Amanda, an avid traveller with an adventurous spirit, had set
foot in 25 countries by the time she was 25.
Art, writing, and photography were her greatest loves,
graduating from Ontario College of Art and Design in 2010 with her
Bachelor of Fine Arts in drawing and painting.
Her greatest love would become her children, Kaiden Brown –
12 years old, and Ethan Brown – 3 years old, bringing her countless
hours of joy, laughter and curiosity.
Her affinity for colour, combined with her profound love of
being outdoors led her to create Humble Burdock Farms. This flower
farm and design studio catered to weddings and events. She published;
From Seed to Centrepiece – A Floral Journey through the Seasons with
Nimbus Publishing in 2017.
Her quest with Leukaemia was a chance for her to find out
just how strong, brave and mischievous she really was. Amanda would
ALWAYS be smiling, making jokes when people came in the room, because
there is ALWAYS a reason to be happy, even on a crappy
day.
This beautiful, cheery, and optimistic woman also leaves
behind her sister Michelle, and her parents Ron and Mary Muis. She
will be remembered for her ability to inspire those around
her.
Amanda and her family would like to thank each person who was
a part of her care during her hospital days on floor 8A and B at the
VG in Halifax. Her positivity and creativity were coupled with a
tremendous amount of laughter, creating special bonds between her
Doctors, RN’s, CCA’s, and Patient Care Aids. Our
family wants to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional
care that was extended to Amanda during these times.
Her wish is to carry on her legacy in her community. In lieu
of flowers, donations can be made to the Charles MacDonald House in
Centreville, NS. She has countless memories of this unique museum as
she worked there for many years. www.concretehouse.ca

Amanda will be forever known as the girl with the flower in
