Alwyn Lawrence, November 12, 1927 – September 25, 2021.
In the early hours following an admission two days earlier to Bridgepoint Active Healthcare’s Palliative Care Unit, Alwyn found peace after suffering from dementia and a heart condition for many years. He had sustained a heart attack early on September 12, followed by a rapid decline.
His last evening saw him surrounded by his loving wife Lois, daughters Louise (Michael), Elin (Peter), Deinah (Chris), Larissa (Tom), granddaughter Claire, and a generous message of support from daughter Alice was shared.
He had previously been visited by grandson Jensen, and will also be missed by grandson Perry, grandnephews Patrick and Adam, step-grandchildren Christian and Katharine, and Alexandra and Taylor.
Blessedly, he did not suffer for long.
Alwyn will be interred this Thursday in Creemore, with immediate family only present.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bridgepoint’s palliative care unit; Gabrielle, Prince, Ada and Jen of Scarborough Healthy Communities; as well as Elvic and Alexa of Home Instead who provided him with support and comfort in his last years.
